Utría is a national park on the Pacific coast of Colombia, and getting there is part of the trip: a flight to Bahía Solano or Nuquí, the road to El Valle, then a boat into the park. Boats have to be arranged in advance with local operators.
The park limits visitor numbers, so contact it to confirm dates and availability before you pay anything. Everyone registers and attends an induction talk before entering. The entrance fee covers entry only; guides, transport, lodging and meals are booked separately with approved operators.
From El Valle there is also a jungle trail into the park, which may only be walked with an authorised local guide or interpreter. The trade-off is the climate: the park is warm and extremely humid, with almost constant rain for much of the year, so pack rain gear for everyone.
