Conguillío National Park was founded in 1950. In the summer season it has food for sale, kayak and boat rental, cabins, campsites and picnic areas, and these services stay open until mid-autumn depending on the weather. Several marked trails are short enough for children: Laguna Arcoíris and Truful Truful are both rated medium difficulty, while Sendero Coigüe is built for universal accessibility. The park also has an accessible toilet, an accessible environmental information centre and visual-tactile panels for blind visitors. The trade-off right now is access: the park has been partly closed until weather and safety conditions allow it to reopen, with access restricted to the Laguna Verde sector, and no reopening date has been announced.
