Andromeda Botanic Gardens is a garden you can simply turn up to: self-guided visits need no booking, and one paid entry covers return visits for a month, so a short first visit with tired children is not wasted. Children aged 15 and under get in free when they come with a paying parent, and the garden gives them fish food so they can feed the fish. For school-age children there are activity sheets pitched at different ages.
For lunch you can use the Wildlight Café and Lounge or bring your own food and drink and find a spot in the garden.
The trade-off is access on wheels: the gardens are not fully wheelchair accessible, though Rochelle’s Garden has been made for everybody, including wheelchair users.
