Hardwick is sold in two parts: the Hall with its garden, and the wider estate with the Stableyard, each with its own ticket, so you can decide how much of the day goes indoors. The Stableyard is the practical base for families: you can picnic there with a view of the Hall, and the baby-changing facilities are in the Stableyard toilets. For a sit-down meal there is the Great Barn restaurant, alongside a gift shop. If you plan to go inside the Hall, note that pushchairs and buggies are not allowed in the house and have to be left outside the Entrance Hall by the front door.
