Chatsworth sells the day in layers: house and garden, garden only, or farmyard and playground on their own, and both of the bigger tickets include the farmyard and adventure playground. Prices go up from October into early November, and Christmas at Chatsworth, running from early November into January, is priced separately. Booking online in advance also brings free parking for one vehicle per booking at the house car park; otherwise both car parks charge a day rate that depends on the season.
The house, garden and farmyard open from late March until early January, with hours that vary by date, and capacity in the house and farmyard is limited. The one thing to plan around is the house itself: prams, pushchairs and back-style baby carriers aren’t allowed inside, though side and front carriers are welcome, so a sling is worth packing if the youngest is coming indoors.
Beyond the ticketed areas, the public parts of the parkland are free to walk, cycle, picnic and play in; barbecues and fires aren’t allowed anywhere on the estate.
