Sea Life Sunshine Coast is an oceanarium founded in 1989. The main attraction is the 80-metre Ocean Tunnel, where you walk underneath sharks, rays and reef fish. At the Tidal Touchpool, children are invited to roll up their sleeves and put their hands in the water.
Entry is by a booked day and time, and the price depends on the date and time you pick. There is an online discount, but only on general admission booked at least a day ahead for an off-peak date, which means a weekday during school term. Tickets bought on the day cost the same as at the entrance.
The trade-off is the weather. The aquarium says it gets noticeably busier on rainy days, so a wet day often means sharing the tunnel with a larger crowd.
