Pombia Safari Park, founded in 1976, is a safari park, zoo and amusement park in one. The day has two halves: the safari route, driven in your own car, and a pedestrian area with a lemur oasis, educational demonstrations, an aquarium, a reptile house and rides. A park train also runs; its tickets are sold only at the park and cannot be booked.
Parking is not included in online tickets and is paid at the ticket office on arrival. Food is spread over several outlets, including Camping bar, Village, Jambo and a gelateria, though their hours can vary; Lion Grill&Burger has high chairs and a changing table.
The trade-off: car entry to the safari route ends in mid-afternoon, when the ticket offices also close, so the drive has to come first and the pedestrian area and rides after.
