Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise is an aquarium complex and amusement park on Hakkeijima Island, opened in 1993. The aquarium side is split into four: Aqua Museum, Dolphin Fantasy, Fureai Lagoon and Umi Farm. The rides are in Pleasure Land, which includes the Surf Coaster LEVIATHAN.
Tickets come in combinations: aquariums and rides together, aquariums only, or rides only. It is worth deciding before you buy whether your children are here for the animals, the rides or both. The all-day pass includes unlimited Pleasure Land rides, with some exclusions. The rides-only pass does not cover the special amusements, which are offered to pass holders at a reduced rate. Sea Paradise Kids Land, a play area for young children, is paid for separately, and for guardians as well as children.
General vehicles cannot enter Hakkeijima Island; the nearest station is on the Seaside Line, with free bicycle parking in front of it. The official app shows attraction wait times, island maps and event schedules. On weekends, holidays and select dates, LIGHTIA, a night show with dolphins, video, sound and fountains, runs in the evening.
The one thing to plan around: depending on crowds, some attractions may close registration before the scheduled closing time.
