Zoosafari Fasanolandia, founded in 1973, puts three things on one site in Fasano. The visit begins on the safari route, driven in your own car; visitors without a vehicle can use an internal shuttle at extra cost, requested at least two hours before last entry. The day then continues on foot in the pedestrian area: the Monkey Village with its small train, the Lake of the Large Mammals with the Metrozoo, and the Tropical Hall with its reptile house and aquarium. Beyond that lies FasanoLandia, the amusement park, with play areas, a Ferris wheel, museums, a small farm, a primate area and an exhibition of life-size dinosaur reproductions. The Sea Lion Aquarium, with sea lions and penguins, needs its own ticket.
The trade-off is planning. Each area keeps its own hours, many of them set by the animals’ needs and changing from season to season, and on some days of the park calendar only the safari drive is open, with no access to the pedestrian area.
