The New York Aquarium was founded in 1896 and stands on Coney Island in Brooklyn. Every ticket is for one date and one visit: once you leave, you cannot come back in on the same ticket.
The date is the real commitment. The aquarium gives no refunds, cancellations or rain checks for bad weather or for animals that are hard to see that day, so the day you book is the day you get.
Personal strollers are allowed, but the aquarium recommends leaving them at home, and at the Aquatheater and the indoor exhibits they have to be parked in designated stroller areas. A limited number of free wheelchairs can be borrowed, first come, first served. Sensory bags with fidget tools and noise-cancelling headphones are lent out by the Admissions staff in the entrance lobby, free of charge against an ID left as a deposit. In peak summer the car park often fills up, and the aquarium recommends coming by subway.
