The Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex is a visitor center, science center and museum in one, and standard admission covers most of a family day. The bus tour out to the Apollo/Saturn V Center is included. So are Heroes and Legends with the U.S. Astronaut Hall of Fame, guided tours of the Rocket Garden, Astronaut Encounter, Journey To Mars, space films in the IMAX theater and character appearances.
For the youngest, Planet Play is an area where small children learn about space. Next to it is a lounge with coffee, beer and wine where parents can sit and watch. Lunch can be indoors at Orbit Cafe, and every restaurant offers vegetarian, gluten-free and healthy choices. Large coolers, luggage and other large bags, glass containers and alcohol are not allowed, and neither are drones.
You can rent strollers and double strollers at the Information building, either booked online in advance or first-come, first-served. All tour buses have wheelchair- and scooter-accessible lifts, and the complex is a Certified Autism Center throughout.
The trade-off is the add-ons. Chat with an Astronaut, the extended Special Interest bus tours and the Astronaut Training Experience are not included with admission, so a day built around them costs more than the ticket alone.
