OUR FAMILY ASSESSMENT

Family Intelligence

Orava Castle is entered from underneath. The ticket office sits in the Information Centre below the castle, and that is where the visit begins unless you have bought online first. Tickets are sold both for individual visits and for guided tours, so you can decide on the day whether your children do better with a guide setting the pace or with the freedom to leave a room the moment they are finished with it. At the ticket office you can pay in cash or by card. The trade-off is the calendar: the castle shuts for a stretch of April, which takes a bite out of the spring holidays for anyone planning around them.

Why kids will love it

Children get a choice of visit rather than one fixed version: a guided tour, where somebody tells the castle’s story out loud, or an individual ticket that lets a family move at the speed of its youngest member. Buying online before you arrive means the decision is made at home rather than at the counter with children waiting.
