The Aquarium of Genoa has been open to the public since 1992. A visit follows a route, and the Tender fast-food bar sits about halfway along it; the Gusto a bordo restaurant is up on the deck of the Nave Blu. For coeliacs, the food outlets carry pre-packaged gluten-free products.
Amateur photos and video are allowed, but flash and spotlights are strictly forbidden. No animals are admitted, except guide dogs for blind visitors.
The trade-off is the single entry. A ticket covers one visit, so stepping outside for lunch or fresh air ends it: you cannot come back in on the same ticket.
