The zoo has two entrances, the Shinsekai Gate and the Tenshiba Gate, and which one you pick shapes the day. From the stations the walk in stretches to ten or fifteen minutes if you take the route with the elevators, which is the one to use with a pushchair. Wheelchairs are lent at both gates on a first-come basis and cannot be reserved ahead, so an early arrival matters if you need one.
Nursing is where the layout works against you: the second nursing room sits outside the gates, at Tenshiba Ina, so using it means leaving and coming back — and re-entry only counts if you tell the gate window before you walk out.
Pets stay at home, with assistance dogs the exception. Cars are not allowed to stop in front of the zoo to let passengers out either; that is road traffic law rather than a house rule, so plan the last stretch on foot whether you arrive by taxi or by car.
