Junior Travel Club (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. We are based in Denmark and handle personal data in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Danish data-protection law. This page explains what we collect, why, and the rights you have.

Who is responsible for your data

The data controller for juniortravelclub.com is Junior Travel Club, run by a family based in Denmark. For any privacy question or request, email contact@juniortravelclub.com with “Privacy” in the subject line.

What we collect and why

1. Newsletter sign-up

If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address. We use it only to send you the travel guides, tips and updates you asked for. Legal basis: your consent, which you can withdraw at any time with the unsubscribe link in every email.

2. Emails you send us

If you email us, we keep your message and contact details so we can reply and, if needed, follow up. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering you.

3. Analytics

To understand in aggregate how people find and use the site, we may use Google Analytics. It processes data such as pages visited, approximate location (country or region), device and browser type, and the referring site. Analytics cookies are only set with your consent. Legal basis: consent.

4. Cookies, embedded widgets and affiliate links

Some pages show booking widgets from partners, currently GetYourGuide. When such a widget loads, or when you click a partner link, the partner receives technical data such as your IP address and may set cookies to record that you came from our site. If you then book, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. See our Cookie Policy and our Affiliate Disclosure. Legal basis: consent for non-essential cookies; legitimate interest for strictly necessary ones.

5. Server logs

Like every website, our hosting server records technical data (IP address, browser, time and page requested) to keep the site secure and working. These logs are kept for a short period and are not used to identify you. Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a secure website.

Who we share data with

We never sell your personal data. We use a small number of service providers who process data on our behalf or under their own privacy policies:

  • Newsletter provider: stores your email address and sends the newsletter.
  • Hosting provider: runs the servers the website is on.
  • Analytics provider (Google), if analytics is enabled.
  • Affiliate and booking partners: currently GetYourGuide. When we add partners (for example hotel booking or travel-gear retailers), they will be listed here.

Some of these providers are based outside the EU/EEA. Where that is the case, transfers rely on an EU adequacy decision (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework) or on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

How long we keep your data

We keep personal data only as long as we need it for the purpose it was collected, or as long as the law requires. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Emails are kept for as long as the conversation needs them. You can ask us to delete your data sooner.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectify data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”).
  • Restrict or object to certain processing.
  • Data portability: receive your data in a usable format.
  • Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting processing already carried out.
  • Complain to a supervisory authority. In Denmark that is Datatilsynet (the Danish Data Protection Agency, datatilsynet.dk).

To use any of these rights, email contact@juniortravelclub.com. We answer within one month, as the law requires.

Children’s privacy

Although we write about family travel, the site is meant for adults planning trips. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has given us personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when our tools or the law change, and revise the date at the top when we do.

We use cookies to measure how the site is used and to track bookings made through our partners, such as GetYourGuide. Accept Cookie policy
